It wasn’t just her.

We were there too.

Children who grow up with domestic abuse can experience fear, control and lasting emotional harm - even when they are not physically or sexually assaulted.

Many of us only find the words to describe what happened years later. When we do, access to civil justice can depend on the type of abuse we experienced.

That isn’t fair. We want Parliament to change it.

What We’re asking for

Parliament has changed the law on time limits for qualifying civil claims arising from child sexual abuse.

We are asking for the same limitation rules to cover qualifying claims arising from childhood physical abuse, emotional or psychological abuse, and neglect.

Survivors of different forms of childhood abuse should have equal access to civil justice.
