Your story matters.
Sharing your experience helps show the reality of growing up in an abusive home - and why the law must change. Every story adds weight to the campaign. Together, they make it harder for government and the public to ignore the harm children of domestic abuse live through.
Stories will be used in three ways:
Government and policy submissions - to demonstrate the scale and impact of childhood domestic abuse.
Campaign materials - anonymised quotes may be included in reports, press coverage, and awareness campaigns.
Public storytelling - with your consent, your words can help other survivors feel seen and less alone.
Please share your experience below. Do not name alleged abusers - all stories will be anonymised. Stories may be lightly edited for clarity, but your meaning will never be changed.
This form is for adults aged 18+ only.
If reading or writing about abuse is difficult, please know support is available:
Samaritans – 116 123 (free, 24/7, for anyone in distress)
NAPAC (National Association for People Abused in Childhood) – 0808 801 0331 (free, confidential support for adult survivors)
Mind – 0300 123 3393 (mental health support, not abuse-specific but widely accessible)
When submitting your story, please confirm:
I consent to my story being stored for the purposes of this campaign.
I consent to my story being published (choose anonymously / first name only / not at all).
I understand that I can withdraw my consent at any time by contacting the campaign.
Together, our stories will show the harm we lived through - and why children of domestic abuse deserve recognition in law.
